Retina-Vitreous Center is committed to providing exceptional medical care. All Retina-Vitreous Center physicians are Board Certified and fellowship trained in vitreoretinal disease. Each is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS), New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and New Jersey Retina Society.

Many of our doctors have been listed with
the Best Doctors in America

Renowned Physicians:

Our eight retina specialists have over 100 years of combined experience in clinical and academic ophthalmology. Colleagues in leading ophthalmology and medical societies recognize our physicians as being leaders in the field. The physicians make up a large part of the Department of Ophthalmology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, UMDNJ, and the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. In addition, Stuart Green, M.D. is currently the chairman of the Departments of Ophthalmology at both the medical school and the University Hospital. Our unique practice structure allows for the academics and research afforded university based practices with the efficiency and patient centered focus of private practice.

Each of our doctors completed training in general ophthalmology, and then two years of subspecialty fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the most prestigious training programs in the country. The doctors are all certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and are members of various prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Surgeons. In addition, our doctors have been voted by their peers to be included in "Best Doctors in America”.

Education & Research:

RVC physicians have mentored and taught students at UMDNJ for fifteen years. Our leadership in prospective clinical trials, as well as original research, have led to authorship of dozens of articles in the published medical literature and a host of presentations and invited lectures in the U.S. and around the globe.

Precision in Surgery and Patient Care:

Because our physicians are sub-specialists, most patients are referred to us from other eye care providers and physicians. RVC doctors utilize the most advanced surgical and medical approaches including sutureless vitrectomy, advanced imaging and novel therapeutic strategies. Our retina specialists combine cutting-edge science with dedication and attention to consistency and detail, to provide the best treatment outcomes possible.

Patient Education:

We place a tremendous value on educating our patients, and provide detailed information for your review on our website and in the office. Our physicians take pride in making sure that you are well educated concerning your disorder and therefore can take an active part in your treatment process.

Compassionate Care:

When it comes time to obtain care for vision-threatening diseases, the process can be very stressful. We are dedicated to providing individualized, cutting-edge care tailored to your particular problem. We strive to treat all of our patients like family, and provide the compassionate, technical expertise necessary to achieve the best outcomes.

Multiple Centers of Care:

In order to better serve the central New Jersey community and for the convenience of our patients, Retina-Vitreous Center has established several offices within a multi-county area. Each office is an independent, fully equipped, state-of-the-art retinal facility.
