Bruce J. Keyser , M.D.
Dr. Bruce J. Keyser joined the Retina-Vitreous Center in 1996. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, graduating cum laude with high distinction. He then received his M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He was the recipient of a Jefferson Research Scholarship, a National Institute of Health Levine Research Grant, and a Measy Academic Scholarship. He was also accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Societies. Dr. Keyser attended the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia for his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery.
Dr. Keyser is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Vitreous Society, the Wills Eye Hospital Society, and the New Jersey Retina Society. Dr. Keyser serves on the staff of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood, NJ.
Dr. Keyser has researched, published, and lectured at national meetings on numerous topics in ophthalmology, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, endophthalmitis, retinal vascular occlusion, and choroidal melanoma. He has also been a Principal Investigator in the national Complications of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (CAPT) Study, the Miravant Photodynamic Therapy Study, and the Vitrase for Vitreous Hemorrhage Study.
